Wirelss Digital Signal Boosters

A common belief among the wireless users everywhere is the fact that that a signal wireless signal boosted or repeated is not nearly as good as the original signal and that this method can cause a multitude of problems especially if the signal booster is homemade but is this all true? This article targets the consideration of both boosting methods as to reach a valid and argument based conclusion.

To begin with, the wireless signal booster is basically a device bought or homemade which attaches to the antenna area of the router and makes the sent signal more powerful. This can consist of a bigger and more complex antenna or a bidirectional one which better sends the radio-type Wi-Fi in 3D space. This is the main reason why this device can easily be home made with and without so much expense so anyone can give this method a try.

Furthermore, there are certain companies such as Linksys which offer dedicated signal boosters which piggyback onto the access point router as to increase the effective range, speed or make the signal accessible in dead corners or in places where it can hardly react. This method is better compared to the enhanced antenna because it also ads some power to the signal making it more powerful when going through though objects such as walls or ceilings which are well known wireless eaters.

Moreover, there are some signal boosters which can be summed up into the prototyping stage of a device and the placing of different antennas in it as not to interfere which each other and to make the most of the power they have. Laptop and mobile phone signal boosters consist of the placement of the antenna in the top of the display for laptops and away from the 3G antenna for mobile phones which minimizes interference inside of it.

To conclude, signal boosters are a great way to add a bit of juice to the home wireless network and the homemade devices can be considered as the perfect test for amateurs and wireless enthusiasts although for a professional and well built approach it is recommended to add more access points or to use wireless repeaters which can greatly improve the receiving distance for the signal as well as make it
